Nomination Emmy 2026 nel segno di The Pitt e Hacks. Il medical drama HBO/HBO Max guida la corsa con 25 candidature, diventando il titolo più nominato dell’anno. Subito dietro arriva Hacks, che con 24 nomination non solo domina tra le comedy, ma stabilisce anche un nuovo record per il genere.
Le candidature ai 78esimi Emmy Awards confermano una stagione televisiva molto competitiva. Da una parte ci sono titoli già fortissimi come The Pitt, Hacks, The Bear, Only Murders in the Building e Slow Horses. Dall’altra emergono nuove presenze molto pesanti, soprattutto da Apple TV, con Widow’s Bay e Pluribus capaci di entrare subito nella conversazione principale.
THE PITT GUIDA LA CORSA
The Pitt arriva agli Emmy 2026 da favorita pesante. La serie aveva già dimostrato di essere uno dei medical drama più solidi degli ultimi anni, come Recenserie aveva raccontato nella recensione di The Pitt 1×01. Ora le 25 nomination confermano che l’Academy non la considera più solo una sorpresa ben riuscita, ma un titolo centrale del panorama drama.
Il dato più forte è la presenza massiccia nelle categorie attoriali. Noah Wyle è candidato come miglior attore protagonista in una serie drama. Intorno a lui, il cast raccoglie diverse candidature tra supporting e guest, segnale che la forza dello show non è soltanto nel protagonista, ma nella costruzione corale del pronto soccorso.
La campagna Emmy della serie era già sembrata molto aggressiva e consapevole. Recenserie lo aveva sottolineato nella news su The Pitt agli Emmy 2026, quando HBO Max aveva iniziato a spingere Noah Wyle anche come regista. Le nomination danno ragione a quella strategia: The Pitt entra nella serata da titolo da battere.
HACKS CHIUDE FACENDO RUMORE
Hacks arriva alla sua corsa finale con una prova di forza impressionante. La quinta e ultima stagione raccoglie 24 nomination, il numero più alto mai ottenuto da una comedy in un solo anno. È un risultato che dà alla serie con Jean Smart e Hannah Einbinder una chiusura da evento.
La categoria comedy si presenta molto affollata. Oltre a Hacks, sono candidate Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking e Widow’s Bay. È una lineup che mescola comedy classiche, dramedy, satira industriale e prodotti molto ibridi.
Jean Smart torna nella categoria miglior attrice comedy, dove sfiderà Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, Elle Fanning e Lisa Kudrow. Se dovesse vincere ancora, il suo dominio su Hacks diventerebbe uno dei più riconoscibili dell’era recente degli Emmy.
APPLE TV FA SUL SERIO
La parte più interessante delle nomination Emmy 2026 riguarda forse Apple TV. Widow’s Bay ottiene 19 candidature e si impone subito come una delle comedy più forti dell’anno. Non era scontato per una horror comedy così particolare, ma il riconoscimento conferma che la serie con Matthew Rhys ha trovato spazio anche nel circuito dei premi.
Recenserie aveva seguito da vicino il titolo, dalla recensione del pilot di Widow’s Bay fino alla news sul rinnovo per la stagione 2. Le nomination aggiungono un altro tassello: Apple TV non ha solo una serie strana e molto riconoscibile, ma anche un possibile contender Emmy.
Anche Pluribus fa un ingresso importante, con 18 nomination e una candidatura come miglior drama. La serie porta Rhea Seehorn nella categoria miglior attrice protagonista in una serie drama, dove dovrà vedersela con nomi come Carrie Coon, Keri Russell e Zendaya.
LE SERIE DRAMA IN GARA
La categoria miglior drama raccoglie otto titoli: The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Paradise, The Pitt, Pluribus, Slow Horses e Your Friends & Neighbors. È una selezione molto ampia, che mette insieme political drama, fantasy, sci-fi, medical, spy story e drama familiari.
Tra gli attori protagonisti drama troviamo Sterling K. Brown per Paradise, Gary Oldman per Slow Horses, Mark Ruffalo per Task, Rufus Sewell per The Diplomat e Noah Wyle per The Pitt. Sul fronte femminile, la categoria include Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti, Keri Russell, Rhea Seehorn e Zendaya.
COMEDY, LA GARA È PIÙ APERTA DEL SOLITO
La categoria comedy è forse quella più curiosa. Hacks parte con il peso del record e dell’ultima stagione, ma non corre da sola. The Bear resta un nome fortissimo, Only Murders in the Building continua a essere uno dei titoli Hulu più riconoscibili e Shrinking conferma la crescita di Apple TV nel genere.
Tra gli attori comedy, spiccano candidature molto interessanti: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II per Wonder Man, Steve Carell per Rooster, Matthew Rhys per Widow’s Bay, Jason Segel per Shrinking e Martin Short per Only Murders in the Building. È una cinquina molto televisiva, molto pop e molto utile per creare conversazione.
Sul fronte attrici, oltre a Jean Smart, ci sono Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, Elle Fanning e Lisa Kudrow. La presenza di Kudrow per The Comeback aggiunge anche una nota di ritorno metatelevisivo che agli Emmy piace sempre moltissimo.
LIMITED SERIES: BEEF, LOVE STORY E THE BEAST IN ME
Nella categoria miglior limited o anthology series competono All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, BEEF, DTF St. Louis e Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. È una categoria molto compatta, ma piena di nomi da premi.
Tra gli attori protagonisti limited troviamo Riz Ahmed, Jason Bateman, Charlie Hunnam, Oscar Isaac e Matthew Rhys. Rhys ottiene così una doppia presenza pesante: comedy con Widow’s Bay e limited con The Beast in Me. Non male per uno che evidentemente ha deciso di occupare più corsie possibili.
Tra le attrici protagoniste limited sono candidate Claire Danes, Sally Field, Carey Mulligan, Sarah Pidgeon e Sarah Snook. Anche qui la categoria è costruita su nomi forti e titoli molto diversi, dal thriller al drama sentimentale fino al racconto più cupo.
REALITY, VARIETY E ANIMAZIONE
Tra i reality competition, la sfida sarà tra Dancing With the Stars, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Survivor, Top Chef e The Traitors. Per il talk/variety scripted, invece, tornano The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert e Saturday Night Live.
Nella categoria animated program, la lista include Bob’s Burgers, Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Smiling Friends, South Park e Star Wars: Visions. Una categoria che ormai sembra una riunione di famiglia molto disfunzionale, ma con più longevità di metà delle serie live-action candidate.
LA CERIMONIA DEL 14 SETTEMBRE
I 78esimi Emmy Awards andranno in onda lunedì 14 settembre 2026 su NBC e in streaming su Peacock. A condurre sarà Mariska Hargitay, volto storico di Law & Order: SVU. I Creative Arts Emmy si terranno invece il 5 e 6 settembre.
La sensazione è che questa edizione possa raccontare bene il momento attuale della TV americana. Da un lato ci sono i grandi titoli HBO/HBO Max, con The Pitt e Hacks in posizione dominante. Dall’altro, Apple TV dimostra di essere sempre più competitiva anche nei premi, non solo nelle conversazioni da catalogo. Netflix resta presente soprattutto nelle limited, mentre Hulu continua a presidiare comedy e drama con titoli molto riconoscibili.
Ora la domanda è semplice: gli Emmy premieranno la forza numerica di The Pitt, l’ultima corsa storica di Hacks o l’ascesa più fresca di titoli come Widow’s Bay e Pluribus? Le nomination hanno già indicato i favoriti. La serata di settembre dirà chi ha davvero trasformato la stagione televisiva in dominio.
