Si è svolta nella notte del 15 settembre la 76° edizione degli Emmy Awards 2024. Dopo anni di dominio di Succession, c’era curiosità per chi avrebbe raccolto il testimone nella sezione drama, mentre restava sempre in pole position The Bear per le comedy. A giocarsela a viso aperto nella loro categoria, invece, tutte le miniserie.

Le Nomination degli Emmy Awards 2024 erano state comunicate lo scorso luglio mantenendo alcune conferme (The Bear, appunto), ma presentando anche tante novità. Con Shogun forte delle sue 25 nomination e ben 36 attori alla prima apparizione in classifica, questa edizione prometteva piacevoli sorprese. Ecco quindi cosa è accaduto durante la cerimonia di premiazione.

Hacks ha sorpreso tutti aggiudicandosi il premio come miglior serie comica agli Emmy Awards 2024. La protagonista, Jean Smart, ha anche vinto il premio come migliore attrice in una serie comica.

The Bear ha ottenuto altri quattro importanti riconoscimenti arrivando ad un totale di 11 Emmy nel 2024 e stabilendo un nuovo record per il maggior numero di vittorie in una singola stagione per una serie comica.

Shogun ha ottenuto quattro vittorie, tra cui il premio per la migliore serie drammatica. con i suoi due protagonisti Anna Sawai e Hiroyuki Sanada che si aggiudicano gli Emmy come miglior attrice e miglior attore in una serie drama.

Anche Baby Reindeer ha ottenuto quattro vittorie, tra cui il premio per la migliore serie limitata o antologica. Tra gli altri premi per la recitazione, Elizabeth Debicki ha vinto il premio come migliore attrice non protagonista in una serie drammatica per The Crown, mentre Billy Crudup ha portato a casa il premio per il miglior attore non protagonista in una serie drammatica per The Morning Show.
